Ashley
is very involved in sports at her school and in her community; she has
competed in cheerleading, tennis, swimming, and soccer. She has been a
member of the Lady Jackets Varsity Soccer team since her freshman year.
She is currently drum major of the Wayne County High School Yellow
Jacket Marching Band. Ashley is also very involved with her church. She
is a youth group leader, and a youth group worship leader.
Ashley’s personal platform is “Join My Click”. This stresses the
importance of seat belt safety in America’s youth. 25% of all teenagers
die annually in car accidents that they would have survived had they
been wearing their seat belt. Her brother became a part of the statistic
February 28, 2003, and from that day forward she has committed to
helping today’s youth realize the importance of buckling up. While
special emphasis is placed on the younger age, everyone needs to know
the importance of fastening his or her seat belt. She works in
collaboration with Safe America and her local police department to help
spread the use of seat belts. |
